Bio
Jennifer Masley (b. 1994) is an artist and educator originally from Temple, TX and is currently based in Jonesboro, AR. Her studio research focuses on in-depth approaches to slip-casting and mold making techniques to construct bricolage sculptures made of porcelain. Jenn takes a playful approach to slip casting which is informed art historically but also from internet culture, cartoons and old-school plastic toys.
Masley earned her MFA from Kent State University and her BFA from Texas State University. She is the founder of ART CLUB, which is an art community made to support artists at all stages of their career. Currently, Masley serves as Instructor and Technician in the 3D art department at Arkansas State University. In 2024, she was Artist-In-Resident at Anderson Ranch Art Center and Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts.
Jennifer’s research practice also includes several experimental and curatorial projects. Some solo projects include a 10-week installation project using 800 pounds of unfired clay within a shipping container at Outside the Box Residency in Akron, Ohio, and an outdoor pop-up with PLZ DONT MOW at a garden center in Bath, Ohio. In 2020 she co-curated an ephemeral exhibition with two colleagues, Harris Rosenblum and David Kruk, titled “3 uhauls in the library parking lot” where 3 U-haul trucks were converted into temporary open-air exhibition spaces.
